A GOOD GIFT HAS A GOOD REASON
For the person who already has the car.
Start with what they do with it: read about it, polish it, tour in it, or spend far too long rearranging the garage.
Give interest, not a compatibility puzzle
A book about their favourite era, a notebook for the history file or a case for an existing model needs fewer assumptions than an electrical accessory. For any fitted part or charger, ask for the exact specification first. A surprise is less enjoyable when it needs returning.
Check the shelf before adding to it
Enthusiasts often already own the obvious items. Ask whether they would prefer something useful, something to display, or a day out arranged directly with the venue. Measure model cases and garage storage. A large item becomes a burden if the space is already full.
Make a small gift feel considered
Add a note explaining the connection: a car they once owned, a trip they keep talking about or a model they want to learn about. Avoid making claims about investment value or collectability. The point is to give something they will enjoy using.
